Dr. Rakesh Patel is currently working as Professor and Head of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology department at Shree S. K. Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Ganpat University, Ganpat Vidyanagar, India. He did his Ph.D. from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, PG from M. S. University, Baroda, and UG from A R College of Pharmacy, S P University. He has 19 years of academic and research experience along with 3 years industrial experience. His current research interests are formulation and development of novel and conventional pharmaceutical products, dissolution and bioavalibility, protein and peptide, QbD & DoE, regulatory affairs, and industrial pharmaceutical manufacturing. He has received funding of more than Rs 1 Crore for various research projects sponsored by government agencies like AICTE, DST, GUJCOST and sponsored by pharma industries. He is also serving as consultant for two pharma companies for developing NDDS and cosmeceutical products. He has been awarded with Carrier Award for Young Teacher by AICTE, New Delhi in 2009 and GUNI, President Awards for Staff Excellence – Research. He has guided 8 PhD and 42 postgraduate students and currently 5 PhD students are working under his guidance. He has provisionally filled six patents at Indian Patent office. He has more than 110 research publications and 44 presentations in international and national journals and conferences, respectively. His research contributions reflected as H-index for Google Scholar – 23 (citation 1960), Scopus – 18 (Citation 1151) & Web of Science – 11 (Citation 495). He had delivered expert talk and invited scientific session in several national and international conference and seminars. He is working as an advisory editorial committee member of several international journals like Dissolution Technologies, Drug Discovery and Therapeutics and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, USA. He is associated with various international and national journals as reviewer like International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, AAPS PharmSciTech, Journal of Controlled Release, Journal of Crystal Growth, etc. He is life member of various professional bodies like IPA, ISTE, SPER, IPGA, etc. His contributions have been accepted for publication in International Biographic Centre, Cambridge and Marquis Who's Who in the World.
